The old Canon scanner finally failed so got a newer model for replacement.It does do a better job of scanning something that does not sit perfectly flat that the older model.The software that comes with what really makes a difference because it is much easier to use for editing images. Over the years I've tried a few other brand of scanners.I am against the current model, to be fair than the current model has. But Canon has consistently provided me with a good quality product so that now I don't even consider switching brands..
